Re: R7000 bridge mode, one reliable, one not

I have 2 r7000 routers running in bridge mode. Both are running V1.0.9.64_10.2.64.
One of them has been rock solid, the other is losing its' bridge connection every day or 2 and has to be rebooted (most of the time) or factory reset and reconfigured. The factory reset was required when the problematic R7000 5Ghz light was not coming on despite several reboots.
The one that works constantly always connects to an EX8000 that is acting in AP mode with ethernet backhaul to an R7000p.
The one that is flaky connects most of the time to the R7000p directly, though sometimes it will connect to the EX8000. I had initially tried banning it from connecting to the EX8000 using access control on the EX8000 and it was stable for almost a week, but then it failed in the manner that required factory reset and reconfigure. So, I unbanned it on the EX8000 and reconfigured. Now I am back to it requiring a reboot just about every morning (I come in, fire up the laptop hardwired to the r7000, don't get a dhcp address, power off and power on the R7000, and then I am good until the next day).
Any suggestions? I'd file a support case, but way past free at this point.

I figure it out eventually. I have an R7000p in the basement with an EX8000 as an access point on the far side of the first floor.
Signal to the 7000p in the basement was better than to the EX8000 for the problematic R7000, but sometimes it would connect to the EX8000 anyway. To prevent this, I banned the MAC of the R7000 on the EX8000 so it would only connect to the R7000p. This worked on reboot and would work for some number of days, but then (possibly due to smart connect) the R7000 would try to connect to the EX8000 and fail due to the ban - the way out was to reboot the R7000. I removed the MAC ban on the EX8000 and it has been stable for a few weeks now, though throughput is down at times due to its connecting to the EX8000.

Have you tried to revert the r7000 firmware back to the .42 version?
