R7000 cutting modem speed in half every 2 hours

My nighthawk cuts my speed from about 180mpbs to 94mpbs about every 2 hours.  Once I reset the modem then I'm back to 180mbps.  This has been going on for a week now.  I've had my setup for the last 7 months with no problem until now.  I've updated to the latest firmware.  My computer is hard wired to the router.  Is there something I need to configure or is my modem defective?  I still have about 4 months on warranty.  Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Did you facotry reset the router after the firmware update? (depressing the reset button on the back of the router until the power button flashes).
