R7000 doesn't reconnect automatically after reboot
When my internet modem loses connection to the internet and then comes back online, my R7000 wireless router does not automatically reconnect until the router is rebooted. This is most inconvenient since I travel and am not always there to reboot it. Sometimes it even requires using the power button to turn it back on.
Is there a way to set it where it automatically reconnects?

Which model is it? Firmware version?

There is no such setting; it should simply work.
A quick Web or forum search for your current firmware version might
find any number of complaints. For an R7000, the current consensus
seems to be that V1.0.9.42_10.2.44 is a better bet than later versions.
To load different firmware:
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

Check the Internet Setup.
Look at Connection Mode.
Ensure that it is marked to be Always On. That should be the default but it can also be Dial On Demand or Manually Connect. Either of those could explain what you see.
Then there is the modem, if there is one, in front of the router.
Just another user.
My network DM200 -> R7800 -> GS316 -> PL1000 -> Orbi RBR40 -> Orbi RBS50Y -> RBS40V
