R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Hello,

Seems like a new Beta firmware is out for R7000. Does it come with Arlo support or this feature has been removed ?

Thanks,

J.

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Hi @linxeye182

Arlo feature is not integrated yet on this beta release as our engineers would like to focus more on the stability of the firmware before adding it.

Thank you!

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Thanks for that answer (it lets me avoid upgrading the router and reconfiguring it only to figure out Arlo is gone).

Do you know when you'll bring back full Arlo support on the R7000 ? Any ETA ?

BTW, it means your CES2016 announcement has fallen to pieces 😕

There is no ETA but our engineers are working on it.

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

My local Best Buy stores for some time now have had spiffy colorful endcaps up featuring the ARLO and R7000 as a total solution together. It looks like that was a waste of vendor funding for these displays provided to Best Buy. It sounds like Netgear's left hand (engineering) and right hand (sales and marketing) have lots of issues to work out. If I was CEO, folks would be getting fired over this failure.

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

It's more of a case of two business units working on their own. When CEO chimes in and says I want you to work together and I want that feature. Then PR came in to say we need something cool at CES this year.

Result : Arlo team dropped its software in the R7000 binaries. PR trumpeted at the coolness of that at CES. Resulting in an awful mess because apparently both team didn't work together at all. Now we're back to preCES situation and no NightHawk router offers the feature.

Maybe a Netgear rep can share a roadmap of Arlo integration in Nighthawk routers ? So we can precisely know which routers will be eligible and when... if ever ?

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Precisely, I bought the Arlo less than a month ago as I was led to beleve that R7000  firmware supported it without buying a separate base station. I called the local retailer support but got nowhere and then I saw these posts on the forum and my heart sank.

Well you can use firmware Beta 1.0.6.40_1.1.90. It has built-in Arlo support and it fixes the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz issues. This is the one I run, it's stable for my use and let me use Arlo with no base station (!).

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Hi

I tried 1.0.6.40_1.1.90 firmware but no success with Arlo cam. Btw I have 2 Transcend 2 Gb portable HDD attached to the R7000 using the 2 USBs ports.

I can see the Readyshare devices but the Arlo tab shows nothing. This is all despite restarting, resyncing with WPS and I have also

reported this to the local retailer support desk.

Is  your R7000 connected with portable HDD ?

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Not definitive why my Arlo camera is not detected in the Arlo despite following the quick start instruction

Any one here has the 2 USB portable harddisks plugged to the R7000 and the Arlo working as well ?

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

I have a suggestion. For pairing first your Arlo cam with the R7000, you need to be in full router mode : if you turned the R7000 in AP it won't work. Go back to router mode, setup the Arlo cams with it, then switch back to access point. It should work fine.

Let me know if it helps 🙂 (or not :p)

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Hi

My R7000 is in default router mode. I factory reset the router again just to see if it works but still no Arlo detected

I can see my 2 USB drives in the Readyshare tab but not the Arlo camera. I tried WPS again to resync and see the

the blinking blue LED (at first slowly then rapidly- which I assumed is syncing correctly)

I am using beta firmware 1.0.6.40_1.1.90

Re: R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 : Arlo support ?

Ik heb nu version 1.05.60.1.1.86 and I did no reboot or power off or anything else and it was quick and all my settings are in the router after upgrading.

It seems good...... Now the time brings the stability......

Thanks for so far
