R7000 firmware update does not take
Current firmware is V1.0.11.104_10.2.100
Got email that firmware has been updated. Router reported no newer firmware so downloaded V1.0.11.106_10.2.100 and went through manual update (from local file). Process went as expected, but router still reports that it's on V1.0.11.104
Any one know what gives here?

Why haven't you tried downloading and installing the actual latest firmware for this router?

Don't attempt to upgrade via wi-fi, well you could do, but you'd be better off using an ethernet connection.
Also, it won't be long before someone more wise comes along and tells you to downgrade to a 3 year old firmware because it seems to work for all of those folks whose R7000 AC1900 can't seemingly cope with the latest firmware versions. Some of us have no issues at all with the latest firmware.
