R7000 set up as Access point, starts routing again by itself after a while

I've had the R7000 for about a year and a half now. I've bought it because my modem/router is in the basement and I wanted to boost the wifi signal (+ i needed a gigabit switch close to my tv).
I've set it up as an AP, repeating my wifi signal. It works fine for a period of time (sometimes days, sometimes months) and out of the blue it starts routing again and starts handing out IP adresses in the 192.168.1.0 range (my home-network is on subnet 192.168.0.0).
When i log in to the router I see that it has reset itself to it's default "router" setting, but all the settings are still correct. So all I have to do is login and change it from Router to AP again. It is extremely annoying and when i'm not home nobody else can fix the problem.
I've updated the firmware (1.0.9.18), but the problem persits. I've had to change it 6 or 7 times this past year. Last time it took about five days before it started routing again and I have literally no idea why this could be happening.
I've had no luck finding an answer on Google...
Does anybody know what could cause this behavior? Has anybody had a similar problem with this router?

Thank you for responding! I had once again encountered the problem, so i'm hoping this firmware will finally fix it.
