R7000 sometimes pages not loading, need to reload them to get them working

Hello,

I recently got a R7000 and updated it to the latest version "V1.0.9.64_10.2.64" and did a factory reset after that as well just to keep thing clean.

But when I am browsing (on any device using any browser) sometimes the page simply doesn't load and I need to click "Try again" to load the website.

I didn't think of it much until I started to use payment gateways.

I insert my credit card number, click next, enter the OTP I received on my mobile, click next and boom, the next page doesn't load I get a "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site." error.

At this point clicking "Try again" causes an issue with most payment sites and I need to redo everything again.

Here's a sample screenshot:

This happens every 2 to 3 minutes while surfing websites. Sometimes even more than that.

I already have IPv6 and QoS disabled and have tried resetting and installing the latest firmware multiple times.

Any help would be appriciated.

On a side note, is it possible to assign a DNS via the R7000's DHCP server? I think it might be related to the router being used as a DNS server.

Update: Setting a DNS manually on the computer fixed the issue for me.

But I cannot ask every person who connects to my router to change their DNS manually.

95% of them don't even know what a DNS is, they are just the avarage Joe.

Change on the router.

See guide found here.

https://www.netgear.com/support/

Enter your router and look at the user guide. You will find where you can configure the DNS server to use.

That might not have been the best idea.  Complaints about ".60" and
".64" abound.  You might want to drop back a couple of releases, to see
if that helps.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

Wireless (or any DHCP) clients will still use the router, irregardful
of what the router uses.  If the router firmware is causing the problem,
then changing which DNS server the _router_ uses might have no effect.

I see.
Thank you.

I will drop back to some older release.

Can I know what version you are using and what version is known to be the most stable?

I can't recommend any particular one from personal experience, but
1.0.9.42 seems to get favorable mentions around here.  A forum search
might find interesting things.
