Hi achuriweb,

Done with factory reset on the device?

Do you have any Google home or Chromecast devices?

Re: R7000 started disconnecting randomly 3-4 times everyday?

Hi JamesGL,

I didn't do factory reset. I don't think I had chnaged much settings to begin with.

As for Google devices, I do have only Chromecast. But I don't use Chromecast anymore. Instead I have Roku devices. I am wondering if those are causing any network issues!

However,

4 days back I reverted back to Netgear version V1.0.9.14_1.2.25. And Since then I haven't had any outage issue.

I do think that the latest version from Netgear has some bug that is causing this in tandem with Google Or Roku type of devices.

Re: R7000 started disconnecting randomly 3-4 times everyday?

Thnks Dubc,

Actually my problems started with version 1.0.9.26. It caused almost daily outage. Then for some reason it was little less frequent.

Later on I tried a hotfix that was given to me. But with that again I had daily outage.

So as of few days back, I have reverted back to V1.0.9.14 version  and since then I haven't had any outage issue. I think Netgear has something to fix in the 1.0.9.26 version....Or there is some other problem. Until someone figures it out I think I will stay on this version 14.

Hi achuriweb,

When updating to v1.0.9.26, you may need to reset the router and reconfigure it manually.

Re: R7000 started disconnecting randomly 3-4 times everyday?

Thanks JamesGL,

currently my version 14 is working pretty good. No outages. Occasional slowness but that might be because of Roku streaming using the bandwodth. I am little concerned now to go to 26 version. But I will give it a try the way you have mentioned.

New Netgear owner, I am having the same issues;
Connection drops between 1900 and 2130 nearly every night. No different devices connected during that time. I have my Android, iPhone, laptop, and a Roku (usually turned off) on wireless. My TV is Ethernet'd off the router. All connection drops. I've tried factory reset and no luck.

Any other wifi neighbors near by? if so how many?

What channesl are you using on wifi?

Try setting manual 1, 6 ,or 11 on 2.4ghz and any unused channel on 5ghz.

What is the Mfr and model of the ISP modem?

What FW version do you have loaded? Try reverting to v1.0.7# FW version. Others reported having issues with recent versions of FW.

Re: R7000 started disconnecting randomly 3-4 times everyday?

My problems with Internet connection dropping started again with version 14. It worked well for a week. But then its again started dropping every day or so.

As of yesterday I updated firmaware with latest version of 26:

 V1.0.9.26_10.2.31

And today the connection dropped again.

I am wondering if Netgeafr R7000 not able to process the bandwidth required by Streaming TV ( i.e. Roku)...but then I have noted sometimes Wifi drops even when there is no TV Or any major Internet activity going on Very frustrating....

Netgear , in its release notes has saidf that they have fixed the Wifi connectivity drop issues in latest version. But for me it dropped again today.

Hi achuriweb,

check this firmware.

https://kb.netgear.com/000055563/R7000-Firmware-Version-1-0-9-28

Reset and reconfigure if disconnection happens after the update.

Re: R7000 started disconnecting randomly 3-4 times everyday?

Will do JamesGL,

My Internet connection kept on dropping with version 26 as well ( using it now for couple of weeks).  But it has been up over weekend. I am trying to identify a pattern. I have not been able to yet...

yesterday night though, the connection was on well while we were streaming the tv program. Then once we switched off the tv and tried to access internet on Ipad and Laptop, the connection went off. Usually I do a hard reset after that but I didn't. I wanted to see if the connection comes back next day and it actually did...Not sure what to make of all this. I would have expected connection to go off while the tv streaming is going on....but instead it went off after we stopped the tv streaming.....Makes me wonder if my laptop Or Ipad is causing something !!!

But anyways, I am thinking of observing couple of more days before I  install the version 28 that you recommended.

I will keep you posted.
