R7000
I have 100 mbps at my house. I have plugged the ethernet cord directly into my laptop and done speed tests through fast.com
I either get 100 or 110 mbps.
However, when I pmug the ethernet cord back into the router and check fast.com on the laptop, the best I can get is 35 mbps.
Can the router be faulty?
We have a very secure password.

Re: R7000
Additional information is needed. Please confirm the model number of your router. The A7000 in the footer of your message is a USB adapter.
What is the manufacturer and model number of your modem/gateway? Could it be a combination device that is also a router? Cascading two routers can cause problems.
When you connect the router to your modem with an ethernet cable and then check the speed on your laptop, how is the laptop connected to the router? Via Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable?
