R7000P Dropping Internet Connections (Wired and Wireless) Daily
In the last two or three weeks, my R7000P is dropping my internet connection (wired and wireless) at least once a day, only for a minute or two at a time. Sometimes it requires a reboot. Sometimes it comes back on its own. I only notice because it interrupts a Fortnite game or streaming video (both hardwired). It's worked great for a little over two years.
What I've already done:
- Upgraded firmware to the latest (1.3.2.126)
- Factory reset
- Reconfigure
- Monitored it, and the issue didn't go away.
- Downgraded to 1.3.1.26
- Factory reset
- Reconfigure
The only configuration I use that differs from the factory settings is static DNS. I use Google DNS. So, I don't think I have something odd in the configurations that's causing a problem, but I'm open to suggestions.
Dynamic QoS disabled
Smart Connect disabled
Firmware: 1.3.1.26_10.1.3 (Have already updated to 1.3.2.126 and back down)

Re: R7000P Dropping Internet Connections (Wired and Wireless) Daily
Just had a drop, and this is all I see in the logs:
[DHCP IP: (xxx.xxx.x.x)] to MAC address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, Thursday, Jan 07,2021 14:34:20
[Internet connected] IP address: xx.xx.xx.xxx, Thursday, Jan 07,2021 14:34:20
[Internet disconnected] Thursday, Jan 07,2021 14:34:19
One second disconnect. I forgot to mention above that I have also purchased a new AC adapter to see if it's losing power for some reason, and that did not fix the problem.

Re: R7000P Dropping Internet Connections (Wired and Wireless) Daily
I've been experiencing this same issue, and I know it's not my ISP as I am in a neighborhood FB group where we're all on the same fiber ISP. I'm the only one that keeps complaining about this. The ISP gave me a new POE as well as they let me use an ASUS router for a week and a half, and this never happening using this other router. This is the second Nighthawk router I've purchased in the last few years because of this issue, and I'll be going to ASUS next.
I've been told to try a firmware version of this - 1.0.9.42_10.2.44 as it helped this person: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Nighthawk-R7000-needs-frequent-reboots/td-p/...
But I can't find that version or a close version. It could be they aren't on the R7000P but just the R7000? Idk.
I do want to try a reverted older version of the firmware, but not sure which one to go to. But it seems like I've seen a few people mentioning using an older version of the firmware fixed things for them.

I gave up. Nothing worked. Hours of experimenting. Now the proud owner of a TP Link Archer AX3000. It's a little bit of a downgrade in terms of coverage, but it gets the job done. Not one issue like this since.
