R7000P Nighthawk - WAN [Internet] Disconnect on PC Power Off, ISSUE or AS DESIGNED??
Router : R7000P Nighthawk - Firmware Version V188.8.131.52_10.1.36
PC : Windows 10 PC Connected via LAN port
Laptop : Windows 10, Connected via WiFi
Multiple Android Phones and TVs Connected via WiFi
ISSUE : WAN (Internet) gets disconnected once PC is Powered Down (power to PC is switched off, after shutdown).
I generally do not power down my pc, only shutdown. I had to disconnect my PCs power for some maintenance, and suddenly all my other devices were not having Internet access, even though Wi-Fi was working fine, and devices were able to ping each other. The internet LED was white for a while and then turned amber. First I thought it was an issue with my Internet connection itself, but that was not the case, I verified the same by connecting laptop directly to Internet cable, and all was fine. But R7000P failed to connect even after a restart.
Anyhow, I finished my PCs maintenance after few hours, connected the Power back (PC Still Shutdown) and bam, Internet LED on router turns white again and all devices able to access Internet again.
Not a big issue as such but found this to be a very peculiar behaviour. If it is as per design, I would be happy if I anyone can explain the reason, if Not this looks like a issue/bug needing a fix.
