`So I've had the R7000P (AC2300) for a while now with Frontier FIOS 150/150 here in Southern California, and recently upgraded to 500/500. I'm running straight ethernet directly from the ONT to the WAN port of the router. Nothing inbetween. I'm currently on Firmware Version V1.3.1.64_10.1.36
When I run a speedtest directly from the router itself, I never achieve more than 250/300. I have dynamic QOS turned off, and IPv6 turned on.
When I connect a Windows laptop directly to the ONT I get 504/501 at speedtest.net.

Version 1.3.1.44 was the version that supported netgear armor rollout.
I'd actually try the version prior to this as many device had issues with the initial rollout of armor.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
Try factory resetting and manually re-installing the router.
I've found that sometimes the qos settings can be retained even when you shut it off.
Give this a shot first and let me know how it goes .

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
So I performed the factory reset of the router, and re-setup the router. No such luck. When running speedtest on the router I get 249 DL / 205 UL, when I run speedtest.net using Chrome from a MacBook connected to the router and no A/V, I get 157 DL / 300 UL.
So...I'm still stuck same place. Obviously, my firmware did not roll back with the factory reset.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
So, I downgraded to Firmware Version V1.3.1.26_10.1.3 and here are the results:
speedtest from router: 350 DL / 350 UL
speedtest from Macbook connected via Wifi: 225 DL / 500 UL
So, that's definitely better but Im still curious why Im not pulling closer to 500 DL at the router.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
After the downgrade, did you factory reset? A full reset? not just a reboot.
Reason I ask is certain features disable ctf/nat acceleration. when you reset and reconfigure, what all features are you setting up? Or how are you setting it up?
Just trying to figure out because it sounds like ctf/nat acceleration is disabled if you're peaking at those speeds. Smallnetbuilder put its ctf score at roughly 33%. Meaning when ctf is disabled, you see a reduction of 33% in speeds.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
Performed a rull router reset. Same speedtest results.
I dont have anything configured differently than the defaults ...except for SSID name and passowrd. IPv6 and QOS disabled.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
Any chance you have a backup router you could test with?
You can also try using IPv6.
Is there anything else connected to the router? managed switch, disney circle, anything else that handles dhcp?
I'd test it with nothing else connected. just ONT------router-----pc. It wouldn't be the first time a different device was causing issues on a network.

I would also check the cable. Try to use a cat6 cable from ont---router----device.

Re: R7000P and Frontier FIOS 500/500 slowness
My apologies for the long delay in reporting back...
Ultimately, I think the firmware downgrade to avoid using Netgear Armor was the biggest help. I still get varied speedtest results depending on how I test (what configuration etc etc), but for now I'm content with my speeds. I think there are just too many variables at play, and honestly, I don't feel that motivated to go through every iteration of configuring my connected devices.
Thanks for all the help!
