R7000P slow with Comcast Xfinity Gigabit
I have gigabit service from Comcast Xfinity, and I'm getting 900+ mbs directly from the modem. When I connect the modem to my R7000P, however, speed drops to about 300 mbs on average. So far I have:
- Swapped cables to confirm it's not the patch cable connecting the modem to the router
- Updated the router firmware and rebooted
- Turn QoS on, run speedtest, then turned QoS off (something suggested in another post for the R7000)
- Traffic monitoring is off (another suggestion in another post)

Just went through this myself, except I own my own modem.
Please confirm, what is in front of your Nighthawk? Comcast modem/router? What model? Is it in bridge or passthrough mode?
Or are you using the router as an Access Point?
What FW version are you running? How did you upgrade the Nighthawk's firmware?
Since you are getting full speed at the modem, lets focus on your R7000P.
Start by disconnecting all but one wired device from the R7000P. This will be using for testing.
If you want to make a back up of your existing config, go a head and save that.
Now reset your R7000P to defaults. Ussing either the "Erase" option in the GUI or the reset button on the back.
Perform set up from scratch - only configure the internet connection
Perform a speed test from the single device connected to the LAN. What downstream speed do you get?
