My AC2600 R7450 router has been hacked. I know this from behavior, not an audit trail. I've had people in online discussions tell me what I'm watching on TV, who I donated money to, etc.
Questions:
1. Can I determine the hacker/hacking process?
2. What can I do to stop it?
3. What can I do to keep it from happening again?
All I see online is reboot and change your admin password.

Why blame the router, rather than, say, your computer?

How would your router know those things? I don't know what you're doing, but if you're using a web browser with "https://" URLs, then I'd expect any data passing through the router to be encrypted; "hacking" the router would not reveal such data.

"online" is a very big place, and your router has mode than one password/phrase.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for a topic like "Types of Logins". Further reading might not hurt, either.
Anti-virus software for your Windows system? That seems to me to be a bigger "hacking" target than your router.
I assumed that the router was targeted and exploited since detailed from 2 devices were referenced, laptop and web OS TV. I've switched over to Open DNS on everything so maybe that will thwart it. I found spyware on my laptop about a week ago and got rid of it. I assume that people bragging that they are hacking on a site means that they are hacking and probably use multiple avenues.
