R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
This hasn't been a big issue early on, or perhaps I missed it when I only had a handful of connected devices, but I'm noticing that when I identify devices in Advanced > LAN Setup, and set a reservation, when I later go to add another device, the earlier device is still listed under the RSVP, but on the Add Screen, it's still listed as Unknown at the same time.
Further, anything I do in reservations, is not carried through when I look at the Basic > Attached Devices?

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
What browser are you using to set up reservations?
Are you giving a new name to the Unknown devices when you set up the reservation?
My Setup | ISP SparkLight | Internet Cable 1000↓/50↑ CM2000 Modem | Wifi Router RBRE960(v.85) and R8500(v.158) Router Mode | Switches NG GS105/8 |

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
I am using the latest version of Chrome. Yes, when I add a rsvp for a device from the list, I am giving it a standardized name like Samsung_TabA.
It shows up in the reservation listing, but when I go to add something else, that IP is still showing as an <unknown> device on the same IP with the Mac, etc. And then, when you got to basic to set up device type, even after setting up the detailed rsvp, it's listed there as unknown too. You would think it would pipe the info through.
But, regarding the rsvp add screen, that is where I primarily look for anything strange, and it's hard when you have a ton of devices, and that screen is filled anomously with devices that are already assigned.

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
Does this happen in IE11 or FF?
I presume if it does, would be something to contact NG support about and see if this is expected behavior.

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
I don't have IE anymore, but I did check in FF and yes, exactly the same issue.
Regarding NG support, I posted here hoping that one of their Reps would respond. Also, to see if any other R7500v2 owners were experiencing the same. I'm not sure if the majority of owners bother with reservations, but with 50 some devices, it's really hard to track what is and is not supposed to be connected if you don't take the time to properly assign and name each device. What I am experiencing is making this needlessly difficult.

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
Sometimes they do respond. Sometimes it's better to phone contact NG support and file a case.

For a 3 year old router that's out of warranty? I'm just reporting something new I'm noticing after the .....26 firmware update.

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
Probably something that may not get fixed. You might send a PM to one of the forum moderators you see here in the forum and let them know.
Something if you really need, you might look into some 3rd party FW which probably has better reservation features, like DD-WRT.

Re: R7500v2 Address Reservation Issues
Thanks for the tip on the 3rd party firmware Furry, but I am not knowledgable enough nor interested in spending the time to learn how to ensure a smooth and secure transition.
Imho, if you buy a Porsche, it should be able to run acceptably with the factory software. If they do an update and problems arise, I am of the opinion that they should be inclined to solve the problem, right?
I hope that's the case here as well. I thought the moderators did monitor the threads, seeing this is a NG support forum, but if you are saying I need to chase them around as well, I very well might engage that tactic if I don't get a reply soon.
Thanks for the tips.
