Hello,
I bought a R7800 (firmware 1.0.2.20), i link my computer and the router with ethernet, and i try to use the bridge mode on the Wifirst's public router. But when i set the bridge mode the routerlogin.com/192.168.1.1 webpage is not accessible, and the bridge don't work. I try to connect the router on the wifi AP of my android phone but i have the same problem.
If someone can help me it could be cool ! 🙂
Thanks,

None of our home routers supports such feature.
I'm not sure if 3rd-party firmware will help.

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
When the router is set on bridge, it's normal that you will no longer be able to access it through routerlogin.net.
You will need assign a static IP address by selecting "Use Fixed IP Address". Make sure that the IP address that you will assign should be in the same range of the main router.

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Ok, because i had access to the page routerlogin.net a little time like 45s in bridge mode, it's why ithink it was possible to go on it.
i try what you propose, but it's don't work. Maybe because i'm not configuring the bridge mode correctly, i'm not a pro 😕
I tried with the ip adress shown on my phone when he is connected to the main router for static IP.

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Just follow the steps on how to set it as bridge and do not forget to select "Use Fixed IP Address".
Once done, you should be able to access it through that IP address that you have just assigned.
Let us know any update.

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Yes i did, but now windows say: "Unidentified Network" when i'm connected with ethernet on the router in bridge mode.
Maybe because i don't write the right SSID ?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
So when you connect to the public WiFi, it brings up a webpage?
What do you need to do on the webpage? Do you need to do anything to get Internet access or it just brings up the webpage and you can just simply close it and be able to browse?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
We need to connect with a login and password, but i have it i use them on my phone. With the router i don't have access to the webpage.
I can write any static ip, or i need a specific one ?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Then I don't think it would be possible to use it.
There's no way on the router that lets you see that webpage and enter the login information.

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
I can't just be connected to the main router and go on the webpage via my computer ?
My phone can do it then it's not impossible 😮

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Think of the router as your phone.
When you connect your phone to the SSID that it broadcast, as you said you need to connect with a login.
So, when you connect the router to the SSID that it broadcast, where do you input the login on the NETGEAR?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
I'm connecting my phone to the main router's wifi and after i go on internet for the connection one a webpage. Like a lot of public wifi 😉
Then i think i just need to connect the router on the on the main router's wifi network and link my pc on my router with ethernet. After that i should just access to the webpage. But no i can't it's the problem 😕
PS: the SSID is just the wifi name, i'm right ?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
Is the webpage a captive portal?
Like when you connect your phone, will the browser opens up automatically and you need to input the login?
Did you type the SSID just like how it was broadcasted (considering if there's capitalization)?

Re: Re : R7800 Bridge mode don't work
The router wouldn't work to be in bridge mode if it's a captive portal.
The only way you can use it is to physically connect the NETGEAR to the main router.
