R7800 QoS on device priority issue on v1.0.2.63

Can someone help on this issue please , it may also help others.

My issues are when QoS is enabled in the quality of service options and then go to attached device's and select my Xbox one as gaming console, it gives high priority and click apply then go back to check after setting the rest of the devices, the priority is back to low again, what could it be?

you could try to roll back a firmware version and see if that resolves the issue that would let us know if it is a bug in the current firmware.

thankyou for the reply Darren, I had tried Firefox, opera mini, explorer and duckduck go . the nighthawk x4s is in router mode with virgin hub3 in modem mode. with different browsers used , it changes priority then apply but soon goes back to low. using v1.0.2.63 beta. had factory reset when it was updated for the patch and upnp turned off.

the device is still under warranty for the router till 2021 and using custom firmware would void it , if that's still correct.

Imagine that. A bug in new firmware. What a surprise.

For at least a year, based on experience, Netgear QA is non existent. Test for bug fixes? Don't make me laugh.

just rolled back to 1.0.2.62 and guess what? using duck duck go and the device priority is working, thankyou DarrenM and myersw it appears that the 1.0.2.63 beta version has a bug , selected my devices that needed priority changes for gaming and it stays on what is picked, happy it's back and no more laggy devices.

Glad your are up and working again. With the shoddy firmware I would turn off auto update if not already off and be very carefull with doing any firmware updates with expecting to have to drop back. ;(

thankyou myersw, shame I couldn't go to custom firmware as it would void warranty.

Broke warrenty on r8000, r7000 and r7800 in my case. Waited for say 60 days to see that there are no early life failures, the loaded 3rd party. Also had a r8000p that I was hoping that DD-WRT would provide 3rd party for, but did not happen. Guess I am not as worried as some about warrenty.

that's a good way to be sure nothing fails in that time myersw. could be that because it was bought as a gift for me I would be respectful, if I had bought it and wanted to flash it , ide have to look for compatibility and reliability of the firmware be for hand.
