I have 2 Netgear Nighthawk Routers that I would like to set up as repeaters to be able to get longer range with my WIFI. The AC2400 will be hard wired to my AX3000 (RAX40) and the R7800 wil be connected via WIFI. All the posts that I have seen with instructions mention accressing the unit setup via IP Address and selecting Repeater. My units do not have a repeater section available and only have Router/AP/Bridge. All Routers have the latest Firmware as of 4/26/2020. I would like to beable to extend my 5G speeds range. either by using same base SSID or using Different SSIDs. without having to purchase Netgear Extenders.....
Most routers don't support repeater/extender mode.
You can look into 3rd party firmware that might support it but the stock firmware doesn't.
You can always hardwire them in and run them in AP (access point) mode. If you have area's you can't reach via ethernet, you could use powerline/moca adapters.

Also, keep in mind that Repearter mode cuts bandwidth in half due to constant need to be in contact back and forth to the main router it's repeating for

An alternative is to put the "spare" routers in AP mode and connect them over the mains circuit to the base router with Powerline Ethernet.
