What modem do you have?
What firmware is on it?
Try this method.
power off both devices and disconnect everything from both.
hook up coax to modem. power it on. give it serveral minutes with nothing connected.
then connect it to the router.
power on the router.
give it a few minutes.
does it work?

Have tried all the disconnects, and resets but have not tried a different cable....Its really strange i am on the old router now and everything is fine. I'm thinkin may be a speed issue...i have 50Mbs think the R7850 needs more
