R7900 Locked out

Hi all,

 

I have a R9700 that has me locked out. I forgot the password so did the factory reset using the reset button. I typed in the default username: "admin" with password: "password". Tt did not take it, then came to a screen to input the serial number, I put in the serial number several times with several checks and still did not take it.

 

How can I get into this thing?

 

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    When resetting the router, press the reset button for 15 seconds then release. Walk thru the setup wizard with a wired PC and web browser at 192.168.1.1.  This time write down all important information for safe keeping later on.

      .... and what modem/gateway sits in front of the router?

       

      Maybe that is getting in the way.
