R7900p dropping 5ghz channel
Picked up an R7900P today, latest firmware downloaded, installed, reset, configured.
One of the 5Ghz channels is frequently dropping out (Wi-Fi Analyzer). This seems to be a common issue, is there a fix for it or do I return the router?

Hi,
did you enable the smart-connect ?
Or if you can disalbe smart-connect to see if three band exist or not.

Smart connect is enabled...
I'm not sure what you mean by "if three band exist or not"... all three bands show up, one of the 5 Ghz bands drops out frequently, it should never drop out...

Re: R7900p dropping 5ghz channel
I meant disable smart-connet and check 2.4G/5G-1/5G-2 exist or not.
Because It depends on how STA populate scan list.
Usually STA relies on Prob response, Smartconnect will suppress Prob Response if we dont want this STA to connect to specific band.
I guess your device are assigned to 5G-2, so you will see 5G-1 drop out frequently.

Re: R7900p dropping 5ghz channel
So if I understand correctly, if all the 5Ghz devices are associated with 5G-1, 5G-2 won't stay active all the time and that's normal when smart connect is enabled. Once a device gets assigned to 5G-2, the channel should remain stable. Correct?

Re: R7900p dropping 5ghz channel
Ok, I'll experiment with smart connect and see what happens...
Thanks!
Thanks!
