R8000 2.4 band drops devices and locks me out

2.4 band seems to choke when adding my tplink smart plugs and switches. Came from r7000 with no issues same devices. Have reset, rebooted, changed channels and no difference. When I try to use the 2.4 band from my phone it gives the invalid pw response. I’ve had it.

I’ve used nighthawk app and genie to no avail. Connected locally and remotely. Seems to only affect the 2.4 band the 5.0 bands work fine. Unfortunately most of my devices only see 2.4

Have you tried to rename the 2.4ghz or change the password? or even just to test make it so its not password and see if the phone will connect.
