R8000 Dynamic R8000 Tips for no lag!

Hi,

I read somewhere that you should specific the speed for the dynamic QOS on the R8000 by lowering it by 10-20%. When I do a speed test, I get 11.30/1 where I have the speed set under dynamic QOS at 10.4/.5 When I play Paladins, these no priority for it so I have to put my PC on highest and every other device in my house on the lowest. If someone uploads, it just lags Paladins so I have my uploaf on 0.5

This is what I have played around with but I notice it does lag 10% of the time compare to 30%. Cause my PC is on the highest, when I upload, everyone else in my house can't browse cause I'm taking the bandwidth.

My goal is to play Paladins with no lag where other old games are lag free cause they have the priorities there but new games are a problem!! I would like my housemates to browse whenever I upload to my sky drive as well! Any advise would be great!

Can you try setting the other devices to a medium priority and set for High, not highest. You maybe starving the band width on the uplink since you only 1 Mb. Which is bare minimum and may not be good for gaming and doing other things. I have 100/3 and it barely handles 3 game consoles. Gaming and uploading takes some bandwidth on the UP. Specially first person shooter games. Any chance your ISP has other faster speed tiers avaialble?

My Setup ISP SparkLight | Internet Cable 1000↓/50↑ CAX80 Modem Mode |  Wifi Router RBK953 (Router Mode) 2.5Gb Wired Backhaul | Switches NG GS105/8, GS308v3, GS110MX and XS505M |

Additional NG HW: C7800/CAX80/CM1100/CM1200/CM2000, Orbi: CBK40, CBK752, RBK50, RBK853, RBK752, RBK953, SXK30 | NightHawk: MK63, R7000, R7800, R7960P, R8000, R8500, RAXE500, RAX50, XR450, EX7500/EX7700

90% of Australian have a connect speed of 10-15/1. They are rolling out NBN so things will change soon where speeds will be increased to 100/25. We are behind every country in the world on speed.

Gaming hardly takes basically no downloading and very little uploading. Only 5-10 kb upload. If no one is home, I get no lag (40-50 ping)! I pay twice as much with my ISP to get a high quality connect that doesn't lag and download consistently at 11.

How is everything connected? Wired or wireless? I presume your PC is wired when gaming?

What happens if you don't enable QoS, still bad?

I'd try setting up the other devices maybe to a medium priority and your PC to a high or medium as well and test. Should work.

If I don't put everyone on low (my PC on highest), I would lag very bad cause there is no priority rules for Paladins or any new games.

So should I be lowing the speed by 10-20%, what does everyone find is optimal for them??

Re: R8000 Dynamic R8000 Tips for no lag!

I'm ready to throw this router out the window!!! When people upload large files, it lags me bad in Paladins. I have my computer on HIGHEST and everyone else on low but they end up taking the bandwidth... Should i put the upload on .40 instead????
