Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

Hi @Yodaoh,

Welcome to Community!

Does you internet connection stable from ISP and from the modem? Do you get disconnection from Internet when accesing website aside from accessing the NAS on R8000? What is the firmware version of the R8000?

Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

@Yodaoh,

Just to confirm that your connection works fine when you were using the linksys router prior to upgrade to R8000. Also, the Internet connection works fine on R8000 without any disconnection unlike the NAS? If that is correct, have you set a static IP on the NAS?

Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

@JamesGL

I just switch back to Cicsco RV042G, and make R8000 AP mode now. so far synology nas 713+ internet remote login is working. I will test for few more days before i can find the confirm.

Nas is assign static ip 192.168.1.xxx.

router assign port forward 5000,5001.

With R8000 the problem when accessing from internet port 5000 or 5001, after 24hr to 36hr it will lose all  the port forwarding but internal lan accessing still work.

1. restart nas without restarting r8000, Nas still can not be access from internet.

2. restart r8000 without restart nas internet access from port 5000-5001 resume to normal.

Thanks

Jay

Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

@Yodaoh,

Is the static IP configured on the NAS itself or on the router's configuration page?

Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

I have test both condition

1. r8000 dhcp assign static ip 192.168.1.111 synology nas setup static ip 192.168.111

2. r8000 dhcp assign static ip 192.168.1.111 syology nas get ip from r8000 dhcp

both condition same result after few days Nas lose both 5000,5001 port access from internet.

restart  r8000 router.

right now cisco rv042g working for few days now without restart, i have to wait for few more days to confirm.

i am not sure if it is my synology or r8000 bug everything is running the latest frimware.

Thanks

Re: R8000 Nas lose wan connection

Hi @Yodaoh,

Does you NAS uses a different port numbers? If you can use a different port number aside from 5000 and 50001 then try to add it on the port forwarding and then check if you can access it. Observe the connection as well. Let see if it works with other port numbers.
