R8000 Slow Wired Speeds

I have the NightHawk X6 Tri band R8000 router. I have Comcast Gigbit Internet. When I plug my ROG laptop directly to the comcast modem (which was just installed today) I get speeds upto 980mbps down and 51mbps up. However, when i wire into my noghthawk i get 420mbps down and 32mbps up.

I have QOS disabled, Traffic meter disabled, i have set my ISP speeds to 1000mbps and my MTU is 1500. I do not have smart connect or metering on. I updated my firmware to latest and rebooted my router multiple times. What am I missing?

is this router not capable of gigabit speeds?

Not sure which model you have?  Subject R8000, Sig R8000P?  Either way, both are capable of gigabit speeds.

Is this a new router?  I would suggest reseting the router to defaults.  This is recommended if after a FW update you experience unexpected/undesired behavior.

Re: R8000 Slow Wired Speeds

Ok so i did the factory reset like you suggested. I had to do it 4 times before it took. I was able to get my speeds to 419 down and 42 up. That is wireless from my Asus ROG Stryx to my Nighthawk X6 router. I have comcast like i stated and when i plug my laptop directly to the comcast modem (which is in bridged mode so i can use my router) I get speeds up to 980 down and 50up. When I wire in to the router I get maybe 680down and 45up. What more can anyone suggest that i do to get more performance out of this router before i decice to give it away and get another brand.?

Please keep in mind i have tried all the suggestion so far. Followed them to a T and did some i just learned about. It doubled my speed but i am still not close 800-900mbpsdown. Heck, I would even take 700mbps down at this point,
