R8000 WAN Speed below 500mbps on a 1gig internet
I have an R8000 and was using it for a 500mbps internet connection and everything was fine. Today I upgraded to a 1gig intetrnet and cant get that through the router while hardwired to it. When I connect directly to the modem my speed is 950mbps plus
I even did a full reset on the router and I am using firmware 1.0.4.28
I also have trafffic meter turned off
Any help would be great
Thanks

New servuce = new network.
That means reconfiguring everything from scratch.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.

Re: R8000 WAN Speed below 500mbps on a 1gig internet
You're on a firmware version about 5 versions behind.
What modem are you on?
Make sure when using gig service that the access control, qos, traffic monitoring, and parental controls are all disabled.
If they weren't, I'd disable them and reboot.
If that doesn't help, try a factory reset and clean install (not from a backup). make sure not to enable those service.
