R8000 (X6) Setup issue

Recently bought this due to my XR500 having an issue an restricting my speeds to under 500mb/s (im on BT 900). Arrived today, I have never had so many issues trying to set up a router in my entire life. Tried setting up via the Nighthawk app like it tells me to, and even though im connected to the router via WIFI the app cant find the router. Tried it via ethernet, wont find the routerlogin page and just gives me an error that im not connected to the internet. I have tried clearing cache, resetting didnt do anything. Any suggestions?

Re: R8000 (X6) Setup issue

what modem/gateway is it connected to?

The XR500 is a solid router.

If you have 2 devices struggling, I'd be looking closer at the gateway you're connecting them to.

Re: R8000 (X6) Setup issue

Its a BT ONT modem for my fibre. Its 100% the XR500 having an issue, I have read a lot online about them struggling with the PPPoE.
Its the actual set up of the R8000 that isnt happening at the moment. Nighthawk app is letting me enter my PPPoE info accepting them, a tick appears next to internet connection and then loads through to applying the new settings and then 'Configuration Error' pops up and it asks me to check my WIFI connection when im connected to the router?

What BT ont is it?
if it has its own integrated router, try the XR500 or R8000 in access point mode and simply disable the wifi on the BT modem.

"won[']t" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Note: "wont" is a word, different from "won't".

What was the _actual_ error message?  Copy+paste is your friend.  A
Web or forum search for a piece of the actual error message might find
many suggestions.  Possibly interesting:
