R8000 slow upload to NAS on wifi but fast download
I am experiencing slow speed copying data from my laptop to my NAS (Western Digital My Book Live) through my new NightHawk R8000.
NAS is connected with cat6 cables to the nighthawk (I think on LAN port 1).
WAN is connected to my fibre ONT (gigabit internet) but I have no speed issues there.
Laptop is windows 10 with a standard Wireless N card. Also tried a newer win 10 laptop with AC adapter and same results.
Approx 5 devices connected to the NightHawk. Phones, ipad, TV but none are running and have tried with no devices connected.
Wifi copy to NAS = slow (300-600kb/s)
Wifi copy from NAS = fast (8-10mb/s on wireless N)
LAN copy to/from NAS = fast (30mb/s+)
I am on the latest firmware. The router was updated when I got it.
LAN cables are all cat6 between router and NAS. these were recently replaced as I thought I had a bogus cable.
LAN port lights on NAS are green, this indicates a gigabit connection.
Speed tests for internet speed are fine and I have no issue with that over LAN or wifi on my laptop or any other devices. The slowness is isolated to the NAS.
Have tried the following:
* with and without QOS. QOS is currently on as when I disabled it my internet speeds dropped significantly.
* with and without WMM. These are all on again as when I disabled them internet speeds dropped.
* factory reset router and tested with defaults and changing each setting one at a time. No difference.
* driver updates and rollbacks for wifi adapter
Not sure what else to try. Any ideas?
