R8000 speed with HP printer

Hello,

Not sure where to post this question as I cannot find the forum for R8000. Just got my R8000 delivered yesterday and it has been easy to set up. I did notice that sending print jobs to my wireless HP printer seems slower than with my previous router. Is there something I should be looking at doing to make it faster?

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

By the way, this is my only issue with this device. Overall, I really like the router interface and the look of the new style is amazing! I was going to purchase the R7000 but seeing that this was perhaps newer, I thought I should take the plunge.

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

Congrats I believe you may be the first to have this unit. I will be waiting to buy mine when it hits the shelves next week, or if I am lucky today.

In you case, without knowing your WIFI setup, I am assuming your using the 2.4ghz band, and you have a number of wireless clients supporting G & N, keep it in mix mode and select a channel that is not wifi congested from the neighborhood. Then, goto your HP printer, write down your network info, and then clear ALL of that info from the printer. Power down the printer for 15-20 sec, and power back on and scan for your wifi, manually input back in your network info and test print a page and see how it works.

Let us know and please give us some more details about your network environment and router impressions??

1) House size
2) how many walls
3) how many wireless and wired clients are connected
4) how does the xbox or multiple xboxes connect.
5)The routers initial release firmware, how snappy is the GUI and the config within the GUI
6)Stability of wired and wireless clients...dropoff of signal, slow down of speed over time

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

What model is the HP printer?

What wireless modes are you using on 2.4Ghz? Does the printer have a wired LAN connection option to test?

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

Congrats on the purchase, it appears your the first to have it .

1) Delete any network info on the HP printer.
2) power off the printer for 15-20 sec.
3) power back on and locate your network
4) input your network info back into the printer network config
5) test print
6) let us know

Also if you can please give us a detail review of the router on performance and stability and how is the initial release of the FW.

Thanks:D

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

I'd understood this router wasn't being released until the 11th or the 18th. I would like to know where he purchased it.

Re: R8000 speed with HP printer

Already checked with my local Fry's and they have 10 coming to that location. Anticipation builds, but at $300, don't think they will be flying off the shelf.

Either this unit performs well both hardware and software, or the firmware is broken and limits it's performance....time will tell
