R8000 throughput
What thoughput can I expect from my R8000 router. The internal Speedtest shows 225Mbps. A laptop connected directly to the Spectrum network connection verifies this, but a laptop plugged into the RJ45 port on the R8000 gives a Speedtest speed of only 130 Mbps.
I think this is slow for a device of this class. Are there any measured speeds?
Thanks

There is testing for that. :)
there's a thorough review on smallnetbuilder.
NETGEAR R8000 Nighthawk X6 Review: Part 2 - SmallNetBuilder
What firmware are you on?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
Make sure access control, qos, parental monitoring, and traffic monitoring are disabled and reboot the device.
what website are you using for speedtesting?

Thanks for the response. It was very interesting reading.
One thing i didn't see was the WAN input to the R8000, but in any case, the wireless thruput was more than I am seeing.
While the information was very interesting, it didn't help me much, as I use wired connections for everything in my house except my iPhones. I was looking for something like a number that says the router's throughput is x% of the input.
BTW, I am using the latest firmware, loaded last week to try to improve the problem. The Spectrum network attachment is an ARRIS box.
Spectrum is coming by tomorrow to see if they can help. I called them a few weeks ago about an intermittant connection and they found that a squirrel had partially eaten through the drop from the pole. Once that was fixed things improved somewhat, but Zoom still says I have an unstable Internet connection. And I can tell that from the Speedtests.
I use Speedtest.net. I tried spectrum.com/speedtest, but got no agreement between the two. The Spectrum tech said that they like to keep the rate to about 70% of what the Speedtest.com rate is.
Thanks again.

What actual firmware version is it? The latest isn't always the greatest.
And what arris modem is it?
Did you try different servers using speedtest? it doesn't always pick the most ideal server.
Did you disable qos, traffic monitoring, parental controls, and access controls? Make sure to disable them and reboot.
