If it's so obvious to everyone that the OP has a router, and not a
modem+router, then what's the point in posting irrelevant (and
erroneous) "information" about some "Modem/Router's"?

How "nice" is posting irrelevant (and erroneous) "information" here?
I fail to see how it would it be "nice" to leave such nonsense
uncorrected, to mislead the OP (and other, future readers who might be
unfortunate enough to stumble onto this thread).

Modem/Router's can be bridged, and it means basically turning off the Wireless on the unit so it doesn't interfer with the router's wifi that plugs into it.

Now, how about asking a question about a problem you are having and how to solve it? Suspect you want to plug the R8000 into another Router as an Extender, or the other way around? If so, the answer should be in the R8000 manual you can get on the Support tab.

   An R8000 is a router, not a modem+router.

"Bridge" is not a very well defined term, but normally, that's not
what it means.  What it normally means (for a modem+router) is that the
whole _router_ section (not only "the Wireless on the unit") is
disabled, leaving only the modem section active.

And that's not the usual reason.  (Avoiding multiple routers is the
usual reason.)

For an explanation of "bridge mode" for a router, visit
http://netgear.com/support , put in "R7000" as the model number, and
look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Set Up the
Router in Bridge Mode"

But, back to the original question, ...

If it's not in the R8000 User Manual (and I don't see it there), then
I'd guess that you'd need some third-party firmware to use it that way.
I have no idea if such firmware exists.

Thanks for stating the obvious! I'm sure that the OP knows this as well. So do I as I own one.

Rather than nit-picking and being rude and using snide canned responses, why don't you try being nice if you can?
