R8000P power cycle or outage resets to factory defaults
I had a power outage a few days ago that outlasted my UPS, and I woke up to my nearly new (August 2019 purchase) router reset to factory settings. Experimenting a bit, it appears that even power cycling the router resets it -- which is unacceptable.
Searching on this site, this appears to be a long-standing problem with the entire Nighthawk series - for example:
Is there any solution that I have missed? Any solution in the works?

Some routers yes, but by no means the entire range. Probably a small handful of unlucky models, which makes it harder to pin down.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
