R8500-100CNS or R8500-100NAS and what is the difference

To whom might be in the know and feeling generious enough to share their knowledge,

i am looking at purchasing a new router, my old one is

WNDR3700v4 which was good until a firmware update caused my most needed function (parental controls) to break, which is also why i am basically exclusively looking at Netgear again for this new router.

my first thought was to purchase the 'best' top of the line but i really don't need the 802.11ad especially since that is dead, and ax will be out soon. I would really love that plex server built-in though, but since i won't be switching my hard drive setup anytime soon, i figure there is no point, and its double the cost of the one i am now considering.
NETGEAR AC5300 Nighthawk X8
there seems to be the two precise models
R8500-100CNS and R8500-100NAS.

can anyone tell me the difference between these two, if not, can anyone confirm that R8500-100CNS is indeed the most recent and that R8500-100NAS is in fact discontinued.

i would love more details than just that, like what improvements have been made to the supposedly newer R8500-100CNS, or if not improvments what has been removed from that model.

is R8500-100CNS more reliable than R8500-100NAS?
please let me know anything you can, as soon as you can so i can make this purchase as quickly as possible (but hopefully as informed as possible).

Could be different for retail channel purposes like for example vendors will have slightly different model extensions so that they can avoid price matching but underlying hardware would be the same. Kinda like Roku models 4660R and 4660X are both the Roku Ultra but the letters designate different retail channels.

It can also be a region thing.

The bit that matters is R8500.
