Re: R8500 Firmware Version V1.0.2.30_1.0.43

I think my unit is from first batch so from what I can see on note 4 traffic meter is buggy on WAN  and they are trying to fix it. I have replaced wires and no matter what I do my 300/20 connection is always cut in half on the download side, it feels throttled to 150/20 200/20. As soon as I connect directly to modem skipping the router I see my 325/23 all day.  I have tried all that is posted for this router, turning of QOS as well which I think is odd in its self as regardless of having a weak internet connection or not you would still want to manage bandwidth to devices period. I am alonot liking the stories of if a RMA needs to be done people are getting back routers that are in same or worse shape than what they originally had.

I've been running for about a day on this, and haven't noticed any big issues so far. I really

like this router and it's 5Ghz signal, I pick it up thoughout my two story house. Hopefully the

QoS will work good, my old Linksys was terrible when I enabled it.

These happened in .26 and .28 also

1. I noticed when you refresh the attached devices page and have QoS enabled, sometimes

a device will disappear. They're still connected and everything is fine, just missing on this page.

Come to think of it, most of the time it's a mobile device, either it's a iPhone6s, Note 5, etc.

2. I don't use the speedtest option to set my bandwidth in QoS. I do a speedtest to a closer

server and put those numbers in manually, and then add about 300KB/s. There must be

some overhead when this feature is enabled.

3. They really need to move the time zone setting to a different page, it took me forever to

find it. btw it's under schedule.

My next roll of dice is buying the netgear AC usb 3.0 adapter and see how the throughput is affected. I hate being the guinea pig from what it feels like to be a "tester" without knowing.

The wireless sigal range is great for what little I have wifi BUT what is hardlined to the router should not be seeing any bottleneck.
