R8500 Nighthawk won't update firmware in the app

The nighthawk app says there's a firmware update but Everytime I try to install it, I get a error message. What can I do?

Hi! Thanks for reaching out! Well, I went to the Nighthawk app, and saw that it had a update, and when I attempt to install it, it loads for about 2-5 minutes and then says update failed. I took a screenshot of the error message in case it could help you! I greatly appreciate your help with this!!

Ah. The dreaded Nighthawk App. You have my sympathy.

 

Experienced users try to avoid it. The best way to update the firmware is with a browser and a wired LAN connection to the router.

 

There is a support for the R8500, including a manual and firmware, somewhere at the end of this link:
