R8500 very slow connecting through Virgin Media

Hi there,

 

Recently, anbd I believe with no changes to the network at our end, the wireless and wired connections through our R8500 seem to be really slow. 

 

If I put the Virgin Media Superhub3 into router mode and connect directly to it I get speeds of around 380mbps. When in modem mode and connecting though R8500, speeds drop to 130mbps.

 

Set up is:

 

Superhub 3 modem mode

into

R8500

attached to which is 

Netgear Orbi

 

Interestingly, the speeds obtained from teh Orbi kit (wireless connections to them) are in excess of 350mbps.

 

Any thoughts?

Hi there,

Yes I have checked that I am on the latest firmware. Seems fairly unstable at the moment. Several Windows machines are all reporting between 150-280mbps while iPhone reports over 380mbps consistently.

Also, speed testing the internet port of the router through the Nighthawk app or from the web page for the router on a windows machine both report 380mbps consistently.

Am a bit stumped. Orbis connected to the router report 380mbps via Windows devices.
