Also the internet connection light on the front of the router is white and does not turn red showing that the there is no internet.
After the x8000 issues I had I am very upset if this router has a similar problem.
Thanks

Netgeat believes it is the modem. They are replacing it. I hopes this takes care of the problem.

Re: R9000 dropping internet connection on WiFi and Ethernet.
What firmware version do you have on the device? A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.)
There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
This bit is puzzling.

There is no "red" option for the internet LED. It is either white (connected), blinking white (traffic flowing) or off (no cable connected).
There is a manual for the R9000 somewhere at the end of this link:

And what is the modem in front of this thing?

As that is pretty fresh, you probably installed it yourself.
Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?
New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.
So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.
This is a nuisance because you then have to reconfigure the device all over again.
You can backup your settings before you reset and restore them later. But that may just bring back the fault. Then again, at least you will know if the reset fixed the problem.

That isn't a Netgear model number. D7000? C7000?
If it is one of those, then it is a modem-router. To avoid trouble, that entails configuring either the modem or the router in a way that disables its router bit.

"Simple" cable modem. No router bit to worry about.
Do its LEDs look right when you lose the connection?
I assume that you checked with your Internet service provider for problems.

for some reason I can not log on to the two range extenders. They are in my apartment and I guess I have to be in the apartment to do it even thought they use the same WiFi name.
I see the wan has been up for only 29 minutes. Could it be the CM 700 modem dropping connection?

Is there directions on how to access the modem and get the logs you need?

Re: R9000 dropping internet connection on WiFi and Ethernet.
I thnk I found what you are looking for. Didn't know I could do this. Should I change the Modems Password from the generic one like to do the routers?

Re: R9000 dropping internet connection on WiFi and Ethernet.
Thanks for that info. I needed something with a stronger range cause I supply WiFi to my duplex apartment so it has to reach there. So I wanted the addition of triband and smart connect which I didn’t see on the r7800. I originally went with the R8000 and has WiFi dropping all the time. Still have that holding a door open somewhere😉. So I have until the end of the month to determine if I will keep th R9000. It does have the range and when it works the tenets have no problems.

The R7800 now supports smart connect. It came with a recent firmware update.
R7800 Firmware Version 1.0.2.52 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
You might like to turn off another new extra, "the NETGEAR auto firmware update feature".
