Came across the same issue as previous topic. NetGear 36 router causes interference on 144.710 mHz. Unpluging the power at the router eliminated the issue. That frequency is used for the input to the local 2 meter repeater. As soon as I am 15-20 feet away outside of my mobile home with a handheld ham radio, the interference stops. SOP for ham repeater operations when the repeater goes down, is to use the input frequency for simplix communications, as in a disaster situation for local communications, including with our hospitals. With my base station inside the mobile home, I cannot escape the interference. This can be a serious issue for emergency communications and must be addressed, as others may face the same interference on this FCC controlled frequency.
"NETGEAR36"? Either way, it's not a model number. Look for "Model" on the product label.

Still my suggestion. If the spurious emission is from the computery stuff in your mystery "router", rather than from its wireless-network radio antenna(s), and the antenna(s) on your mystery "router" are external, then I'd expect some (grounded) metallic screen around the box to have some effect. But I haven't run the experiment on your mystery "router", so I know nothing.
Amateur radio operators are expected to know about such things, no?

What do you expect for an old guy who was on the cutting edge of personal computers and now can barely dial his smartphone! I have an N300 Wireless Router , WNR2000v4 . No external antenna. Only been in ham radio for a few years, so surprise, surprise, I don't know everything yet; wasn't born knowing everything like a few people I know. Shielding? Perhaps, but I don't know off-hand what to try. I don't have a Faraday cage at the moment. Something else I will have to Google. But the point is, this device should not be putting out electromagnetics on the FCC regulated frequencies.

That could make it tough to add a cage without blocking the desired signals. Otherwise, I'd try some aluminum window screen. Plenty of other models have external antennas.

As suggested elsewhere, some research on "FCC Part 15" might be interesting. Practically any device with an oscillator emits something, and square waves (and other pulse trains) are rich in harmonics.
