Random Drops - R7800

Random Drops - R7800

I am currently having issues with random drops in connectivity while gaming or streaming. I am on 400/30. Ping is averaging between 15-20. This is a brand new router. I have it running .52 because i read it was having issues. I just upgraded the internet and have rebooted modem and router. My modem is Technicolor 4400.. Any suggestions? Does Voxel have something better?

Re: Random Drops - R7800

do a factory reset with configuring only the basics, then play your game/stream and see if you get the same. Otherwise you may need to try Voxel

also, when rebooting many devices, there's a specific order

1) turn off all devices you want to mess with

2) turn the modem on and let it fully come up so it is ready to provide internet

3) turn the router on and wait for it to settle down

a final option to try is to spoof the MAC address of the WAN interface

Re: Random Drops - R7800

I’ve gone ahead and upgraded into the latest Voxel firmware. I’ve reset from scratch. I will try spoofing the MAC address as a last resort. Was not aware of this possible solution. Thank you.

I have this same problem I have 400 download and 10 upload. With the modem connected to the pc I get 400. With the router connected I get almost the 400 around 370 with ethernet front the router to PC. But wifi starts good then it goes to 25mbps download speed its driving me crazy I have a netgear cm1000 for the modem.
