ReadyShare NAS not recognized by time machine
Hi all,
I've searched the forum exhaustively, contacted Netgear customer service (no help), and AppleCare reg this issue. I have a Nighthawk X6S AC3600 (Model #R7960P) router with a Seagate Backup Plus 8TB HDD formatted as Mac OS Journaled, plugged into the USB 3.0 port on the router. I am running OS Catalina and am able to mount to the NAS using smb://MyIP and can read/write files. The problem I am having is time machine does not recognize the drive when I click "add device" in TM preferences. I've enabled SMB and AFP in the Mac's file sharing preferences, but I can't connect to the NAS using AFP -- only SMB. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my NAS visible in Time Machine as a backup?

Re: ReadyShare NAS not recognized by time machine
Firmware Version
V1.4.1.50_1.3.10
I can connect to readyshare (My USB drive is formatted GUID - MACOS Extended Journaled) but I cannot save anything to the share. I get the following error: The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -50).
I can't setup Time Machine to use readyshare either. Any suggestions.
I'm using MACOS Catalina.
