Readyshare folder on USB drive doesn't show folders that begin with a PERIOD

I have a external HD that I've been storing all of my saved videos on for a while.  When I received my Nighthawk, I plugged it in to the router for the Plex feature.  After hours of "catalogging" the videos, I noticed MANY were missing.  All of the videos had 1 thing in common, the subfolders they were located in began with a PERIOD.  Example: ".HOME VIDEOS".  You may be aasking why I did this.....it was to make them appear at the top of the list(alphabetical order).  They don't even show up when I mapped the drive on my PC.  I can't access the folder by searching for a file name, then access it, but for some reason, the Nighthawk ignores folders that begin with a PERIOD.  I removed the PERIOD and like magic...it appears in the folder list naturally.  Can this be fixed or do I need to remove the PERIOD from all the folders to make them appear in the folder list and for Plex to find/index them into my library???

   Probably, but perhaps not by you.

   A leading dot is used on UNIX(-like) systems to make a file "hidden",
which means that it won't appear in many file listings.  If the
file-sharing software involved here follows that convention, then
changing those names may be your only practical option.

   Many other characters could do that:

Of course, some of those might cause problems of their own.  You'd need
to run the experiment, but I'd expect these to be pretty safe:

Interesting, but I have NO PROBLEM seeing folder that start with a period, see screen capture of Windows Explorer looking READYSHARE on the router on the right,

I do have Explorer set to show all folder, System, Hidden, etc.

Suspect you do not have those set. Here is a DIR of the Readyshare drive using the sharename;

Note the difference on the 2nd DIR using the Attributes of ASH... the folder IS showing.
