Recent official firmware update bricked my R8000 router

Hi,

I have updated my R8000 NightHawk router to the latest official firmware yesterday (18th Jun 2020) using the regular web interface.

Post that, my router doesnt boot completely. It restarts every 20 seconds and I guess its bricked.

Is there a way to recover from this state and what can be the next step to do? Any advice.

Thank you!

Re: Recent official firmware update bricked my R8000 router

You can try recoving it via tftp.

are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP

just make sure you enable tftp

and here's a video walk through.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Same here happened today.  It is Bricked.  I have tried to reset does not work.  Tried TFTP also does not work.  I have a $200 paper weight now.  May never buy a netgear again after this.  Can;t believe they would brick their own equipment.
