Remote Desktop through R6700 + GS716Tv3 Setup
Hi All,
I recently added a GS716Tv3 ProSafe Switch to my R6700 router in order to network my new home security cameras.
Anyhow, all is good except my ability to Remote Desktop (RDP) to my desktops. I used to be able to do so (and I still can), without any problems, so as long as I remove the ProSafe switch from my network.
When I tried to connect, I receive an error stating that the Local Security Authority cannot be reached (see attached). I have tried adding, removing remote users, resetting the passwords, enabling and disabling UPnP, as well as disabling and re-enabling port forwarding.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Configured how, exactly? "added" how? Where? What, exactly, is
connected to what, exactly? Hint: If a device has multiple Ethernet
ports, then "connected to device" is not enough detail.

Why? What are these cameras, and how are they connected to what?

From where are you trying to connect to these Windows systems? What
are all the IP addresses involved?

What are your actual port-forwarding rules? Copy+paste is your
friend.
You can see how the "ProSafe Switch" might have gotten its name. You
can't get much more "Safe" than this. No one can get past its security?

Might also be worth throwing this at the switch community.

antinode Thank You for Your Help. Please see my answers below -
"Configured how, exactly? "added" how? Where? What, exactly, is

[CB] Linksys modem provides Internet to R6700 router. Router patches Internet to switch (port 1, 1000Mbps). Desktop-1 is physically connected to router and Laptop-1 is connected to the WiFi (these computer can ping each other and have the same subnet mask and default gateway).
"Why? What are these cameras, and how are they connected to what?"
[CB] 4 IP cameras are connected to Network Video Recorder (NVR). NVR is connected to switch (port 15, 100Mbps, Full Duplex). The NVR appears to be inconsequential. I can remove it from the setup and still fail to establish a remote desktop connection.
"From where are you trying to connect to these Windows systems? What
are all the IP addresses involved?"
[CB] Yes. Windows 10. Desktop-1 has a statically configured IP. Laptop-1 has a dynamically assigned IP.
"What are your actual port-forwarding rules?"
[CB] None at the moment. Worth noting that I forward the RDP port (3389) on the router to Desktop-1 on a as needed basis.
