Replacement for bricked N900/4500 - would you recommend R7000?

hi,

my 4500 just died last night and i need a replacement for it. looking at what Netgear has to offer, it appears that this unit should be the logical replacement. however, it looks like many of you are having numerous issues with it and not much success in resolution from Netgear.

I plan to run the unit as an AP only and will not use ANY of the following:
-firewall/router functions
-DHCP server
-take advantage of AC band (no compatible devices, everything will be on N right now)

with that as background would you recommend the unit for purchase?

Hi rick, the R7000 should a great upgrade from your 4500, with speed alone on the wireless it does definitely look good.Since it has 3 antennas, you will definitely get some longer range and connection as your AP.

Yes, recommended for your purposes. I read about someone getting it at Staples for $179.

You might want to check the R7000 threads and keep the receipt in a safe place.
