Router Failure

Today my router failed to distribute my in-home wifi signal.  Called support only to find that I needed to pay $80 for their help.  I would think that a $300.00 would last for more than 16 months.  Has anyone else had this problem?

   Firmware version?  Connected to what?

A vague description of what does _not_ happen is less useful than a
clear description of what _does_ happen.

"failed" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for the
LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".  Pay particular attention to the
"WiFi On/Off button with LED".  Did you press it?  Further reading might
not hurt, either.

   Read the warranty _before_ buying?

Perhaps it did.  From your detail-free problem description, it's
tough to tell.

Some of us don't yet know what "this problem" is.

If you live in the USA you have hit probably the end of the warranty window. But if those are AUS$ you may have longer protection because Australia is one of the many places where consumer protection is better than Netgear, and other brands, put in their documentation.
