Router cutting download speed in half

Hello, I bought a 1000 dual band router from best buy. I'm getting 177mb down directly from my modem, but my new router is only putting out about half that. I used the new cat5 to go from my modem to the new router. And wireless and hard wired is around 60-70 mb down. What an I doing wrong?!
