Router not restarting after I did a firmware update and the amber light is just on.

Hello, I had this router for 3 years and when I tried to update a firmware it was trying to boot up but it never booted up. Also this happend over the weekend where I was not home and I was gone but sunday night it tried to connect to the internet but it kept rejecting the password even tho i know i typed the password in correctly. I dont really know how to solve this I would appreciate someone helping me with this.

If the only light on is the power light and its amber, it tends to indicate a problem with the firmware. If you're unable to get back into the router, then you might be a canidate for a tftp recovery.

are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP

just make sure you enable tftp

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10

and here's a video walk through.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Which way? tftp? nmrpflash?

Where did it fail? There's lots of steps that can fail which is why i included a video walk through.

Details help more than a short "it didn't work"
