Router to Router

I am looking to run 2 M60 routers with 3 satelites. I need a router on the other side of the house from my modem.

Here is what i want to do if possible:

Arris Modem (no router, just modem)

direct to M60 router

That goes out to a 8 port switch

everything wired goes into that and 1 cable goes down and under to come up by main TV in living room (xbox)

2nd M60 router with direct cable to xbox

3 sat's spread over house, upstairs and downstairs

My question is that 2nd router. Will it just hook up? I tried something similar with a TP link wired router (no wifi) that would not let the M60 work. I could swap them and it all worked but my xbox dropped from 699MB dload to 240MB.

If it won't just plug and play can I put that 2nd M60 into AP mode, still direct connect to the xbox and it will still run the WiFi that the main router is pushing?

What's an "M60 router"?  "MR60"?  Look for "Model" on the product
label.

You'd need to connect the cables.  Whether the second router would
then configure itself appropriately depends on how you do things.

One plausible arrangement would be to configure the second router as
a wireless access point, rather than as a full-function router.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.
Look for "Set up the router as a WiFi access point".

Thanks for that detailed description of those devices, and how you
connected and configured them, and what happened when you did whatever
you did.

   See above.

I don't know what that means.  The MR60-as-WAP will establish its own
"WiFi", but the devices which are connected to it should be on the same
LAN subnet as all the other LAN devices.

Start with your problem rather than trying to troubleshoot your idea of what the solution might be.

What do you want the second router to do?

If you just want to get the Internet on the other side of the house you don't need a second router. If you can't just run a cable, you can use something like a wifi extender or a powerline network over your mains circuit.
