Seagate Backup Plus Hub 6 TB External HDD - STEL6000100 - USB 3.0

I bought the Seagate 6TB Backup Plus at Costco. I plugged it into the USB 3.0 Port and it is not recognized by my R7000. If I plug the drive into my Windows 10 or 8.1 PCs, it is recognized. I noticed that others have the same issue with other Seagate disks. The disk has its own power supply and it starts spinning once the router boots up. I have V1.0.9.20_1.2.28 firmware on the R7000. If it is a 3.0 driver, is therea way to isntall it on the R7000? For the standard questions:
1. What is the model number and firmware version of the router? (above)
2. Have you tried the other USB port (if applicable)? Yes, it also does not work on the 2.0 USB port
3. Does the 6TB drive have a separate power adapter? yes
4. Does the USB LED light up on the router if the drive is connected? no
5. What is the file format of the drive? NTFS
6. Have you tried partitioning the drive into smaller capacities? no

Never mind. I fixed the issue by reconnecting the hard drive to my Windows 10 machine and running an error check against the disk. It found no errors. But once I shutdown my router and reconnected it to the 2.0 USB port and powered up my router, the disk was recognized and was accessible from the network. I then moved the drive to my 3.0 USB port and, viola! it was recognized there also.

Re: Seagate Backup Plus Hub 6 TB External HDD - STEL6000100 - USB 3.0

i saw this post and hoped the error scan would work for my Seagate 6TB and R7000, but it did not. Neither the USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 work after the latest firmware update to V1.0.9.26_10.2.31. Not sure what to do except not use this nice feature or get a different drive. I will keep troubleshooting and looking around for an option, but this is sad that Netgear hasn't solved this in recent firmware updates when these large external drives have dedicated power.
