Serial number already registered
I just bought my router today, 29 DEC 2020. It is not refurbished, but when I tried to register the serial number to my account, it said it was already registered. I called customer support and they told me they couldn't help me because it was already registered to another account.

who'd you buy it through?
maybe it was a returned/exchanged item.
Or someone else gave a wrong serial number.

That's a common affliction, although there haven't been many recent references to it. Was it from Amazon by any chance?
As plemans says, the usual response is to get one of the Netgear moderators involved.
